.NET Development Examined

Jeff Etter is TexasJetter

By day I am a Senior Software Developer at EPS Software, where I develop various WPF and MVC applications with a SOA architecture. In addition to development I lead training sessions on Web technologies and assist clients with their development learning. I also have authored articles for CODE Magazine on Mobile Development Using KendoUi and Single Page Applications and Web API.

I started my career as an Electrical Designer, creating the Power and Lighting blueprints in CAD. Along the way CHP & Associates (CHPA) decided that every desk needed a computer, and that someone was needed to manage them. By that time I had already established my tech savvy by leading the CAD standardization and training charge, so I was offered the opportunity. As they say, they rest is history...

Starting with VB3 and MS Access I began writing simple utility applications, then Classics ASP pages. It soon blossomed into comprehensive corporate Intranet using C# ASP.NET with AJAX against a replicated MS SQL Server. Line of business engineering applications that I have created are used daily to stream line and standardize the production process.

I regularly attend the North Houston Dot Net Users Group and continue to explore technologies such as MVC, Twitter Bootstrap, Knockout, jQuery and others.
